Sandplay Therapy Process

Becoming a Sandplay Therapist is a lifelong journey. It begins with the practitioner completing a sandplay therapy process. This is because sandplay therapy is an analytically oriented therapy. To hold a client’s process the therapist must understand how it works. It is also suggested that the therapist work on their own issues to improve their ability to facilitate developing the therapeutic relationship with the Client

Education

Sandplay Therapists are encouraged to enter into ongoing sandplay and analytical oriented training. To become Registered, Certified, or Teaching Members there are specific educational requirements.

Consultation/Supervision

Ongoing consultation or supervision is strongly recommended for Sandplay Therapists, and required for those who are seeking Certification by Sandplay Therapists of America and the International Society of Sandplay Therapists.
